چکیده
There is a lack of information on the extent mineral extraction by plants from wastewater in arid and semi-arid environments developing countries. This research assesses performance Alhagi Mallow plant species for absorption heavy metals around tailings dam copper mine Iran. The industrial , known as pulp, site has different concentrations metals. In laboratory setting were cultivated irrigated with pulp (0, 20, 40, 60, 80, 100%) water. Heavy (chromium, manganese, cadmium, lead) accumulation aerial parts roots plants, in-situ soil dam, measured using an atomic spectrometer . Soil mapping based geostatistical methods was also conducted to show spatial pattern contaminants surrounds dam. Our results demonstrated that higher than parts, chromium cadmium uptake Mallow. showed lead manganese had dispersion compared chromium, high percentage being concentrated some hotspots. therefore, have potential remediate metal contaminated areas are recommended widespread use. However, frequent harvesting should be encouraged help reduce migration soils into surrounding environment. contributes cleaner production non-developing • Minesites concentration affect natural ecosystems. parts. Chemical Fixation of Heavy Metal-Contaminated Soils
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has been working toward the establishment of treatment standards for contaminated soils. The Office of Emergency and Remedial Response is in the process of developing and carrying out a plan to address the data needs for establishing the Pest Demonstrated Available Technologies (BDAT) for Superfund soils. The BDAT program is divided into phases. Ph...
متن کاملMetal availability and uptake by sorghum plants grown in soils amended with sludge from different treatments.
Several factors depending on the sludge, the soil, or the combination of both substrates, may affect element availability to plants. In this study, an assessment was done of the effect of two sludges obtained by different processes (activated sludge and facultative stabilization pond) on heavy-metal availability and uptake by sorghum plants in soils with high and low copper contents. Results ob...
متن کاملLeaching of heavy metal from native plants by chemical leachants
Plant biomass harvested after heavy-metal phytoremediation must be considered as a hazardous waste that should be contained or treated appropriately before disposal or reuse. This study provides an evaluation of extractants for the removal of lead from Abutilon Theophrastus biomass. The research was carried out a leaching study to determine the lead-extraction efficiency of the different leacha...
متن کاملEffect of heavy metal contaminated shooting range soils on mycorrhizal colonization of roots and metal uptake by leek.
We grew leek (Allium porrum) in soils of two shooting ranges heavily contaminated with heavy metals in the towns of Zuchwil and Oberuzwil in Switzerland as a bioassay to test the activity of arbuscular mycorrhizal (AM) fungi in these soils. Soil samples were taken from (1) front of the shooting house (HOUSE), (2) the area between house and target (FIELD) and (3) the berm (BACKSTOP). Samples of ...
متن کاملGermination, Growth and Uptake of Heavy Metals in Contaminated Soils (Hordeum bulbosum L.)
The use of metal-accumulating plants to clean the contaminated soil with toxic metals is the most rapidly developing component of phytoremediation as an environmentally friendly technology. Overcoming harsh soil conditions and accelerating the recovery of degraded soils remain a worldwide restoration challenge. This study evaluated the effect of different concentrations of Pb, Zn, Cu and Fe on ...
